An Iowa Trial Firm Since 1939
Hansen, McClintock & Riley, PLLC was formed by J. Rudolph Hansen and Haemer Wheatcraft in 1939. Since then the firm has been involved in literally every type of civil case, in state and federal court, and the current members of the firm are proud to continue that outstanding tradition.
Our attorneys are members of the American Bar Association, the Iowa State Bar Association, and the Polk County Bar Association, and occupy leadership positions in professional organizations. Senior trial counsel David L. Brown is an elected Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, the International Society of Barristers, the American Board of Trial Advocates, and the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers.
We offer statewide representation in the federal, state, and appellate courts and before administrative agencies, with a long record of success on appeal in the Iowa Court of Appeals, the Iowa Supreme Court, and the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. One firm for every venue in the state.
From the Fifth Floor of the US Bank Building at 520 Walnut Street, we serve clients in Des Moines and throughout Iowa, including Dallas, Jasper, Madison, Marion, Polk, Story, and Warren counties. Free parking is available behind the building on Mulberry Street, directly across from the Polk County Courthouse.
Hansen, McClintock & Riley is a full service boutique trial firm: the level of representation often associated with a larger firm, delivered with the personal, accessible service only a smaller firm can provide. Our attorneys bring a variety of specific background qualifications and a professional reputation that set the firm apart within this state and this part of the country.
Trial practice is the lifeblood of the firm. Advocacy is what we have to offer, and good advocacy benefits any kind of case. We have appeared in court in almost every kind of civil dispute, tried a significant number of them to verdict and judgment, and we prepare every matter as if it will be tried.
We take pride in our ethical approach to our clients’ problems and in securing solutions through the quality of our legal services. Clients receive direct answers about the law, the exposure, and what to expect at every stage of the case.
